Purpose
The purpose of this
Association is to serve and unite the representatives of lodging and
related industries, which conduct business in the City of
Springfield, for the promotion and protection of their interests, with
particular attention to the following:

Promoting the
industry to benefit not only the industry, but also the
community which it serves.

Fostering
cooperative action in advancing, by all lawful means, the common
purposes of it members.

Providing through publications,
meetings and seminars, information that is educational for its
members regarding:
-
Laws,
governmental regulations and legislation.
-
Improvements in
services, products, ideas and standards offered to the
industry, to increase operating efficiency and professionalism.
-
Encouraging lawful
and ethical conduct.
-
Maintaining
cooperative relations with allied industries and organizations.
-
Sponsoring mixers
trade shows and other events to ensure and promote
hospitality.
-
Providing services
for its members that are within the scope of a representative
trade association.
Membership
Classifications
Lodging Member:
Any individual, firm or corporation in the operation of a public
lodging establishment, with 10 or more rooms in the City of
Springfield, regardless of designations as a hotel, motel, resort,
suite, court, inn, lodge or bed and breakfast. A Lodging
Member is part of the general membership.
Associate Member:
Any individual, firm, organization or corporation actively engaged
in the hospitality industry, which primarily receives their income
through the provision of goods, services and or entertainment, etc.,
to the general public. The Board of Directors will
determine the eligibility of any applicant to hold an Associate
Membership. An Associate Member is part of the general
membership.
Allied Member:
Any individual, firm or corporation actively engaged as a purveyor
of goods and or services for the hospitality industry. An
Allied Member is not part of the general membership and therefore,
has no voting privileges.
Student Member:
Any student enrolled in an area academic course related to
travel, tourism and/or the hospitality industry.

Lodging Members:
$25.00 Base Fee + $2.25 per Room
Allied &
Associate Members: $250.00 Annual Cost
Student Members:
$20.00 Annual Cost
